FAQ

  1. Advanced Settings & Functions What is Compliance Margin (Deadband)?

It is the allowable error range where the motor
stops after reaching the target position. If this value is too small,
“hunting” (jitter) may occur as the motor constantly tries to correct
its position. If too large, precision decreases. The default setting is
    recommended for stable operation.

  2. Advanced Settings & Functions Can I change the speed in real-time?

Yes. By using the Goal Speed parameter, you can
change the speed during operation. This is stored in volatile memory (RAM), so
it resets to the initial setting (Speed Limit – Non-volatile) upon power
    cycling.

  3. Advanced Settings & Functions When should I use the Force Off function?

It is used to cut power to the motor while keeping the
communication active. This allows the motor to rest and prevents current
consumption when holding a position against external forces. This is
particularly useful for models with the Self-Lock feature.

  4. Advanced Settings & Functions What is the Action Function (17Lf Series)?

Built into the 17Lf series, this allows you to pre-program
motions (position, speed, loops, etc.) into the memory without coding. You can
then execute these complex motions using simple signals.

  5. Advanced Settings & Functions Is there a limit to EEPROM (Non-volatile memory) writes?

Yes, EEPROM has a write cycle limit. Therefore, for
parameters that change frequently (like Position, Speed, Current), you should
use the RAM (Volatile memory) addresses (Goal Position, Goal Speed, Goal
    Current).

  6. Advanced Settings & Functions How do I update the Firmware?

Connect the actuator to a PC via the USB Interface
(IR-USB03) and use the Update menu in the Total Manager software. Do not
disconnect power or cables during the update.
